Some Predictions and Stuff

Kumar Thangudu
I'm in South London now for a few months.
  • Politics - Vivek Ramaswamy will throw the Ohio election, a democrat will be governor. Full disclosure, I bet money on it on Kalshi.
  • Energy - The EU will consume more natural gas per kwh than ever before with its new diesel phase outs. I bought some $POWL and DCA into $UAN as a speculation.
  • Labor - The shortage of plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians will become more pronounced. Washington, Oregon, Mississippi, and Hawaii have each increased licensing timelines for skilled trades specialists, adding 12–24 months for HVAC-related specialty electricians in Washington, 3–6 months for general contractors including plumbing and HVAC in Oregon, 6–12 months for HVAC contractors in Mississippi, and 3–6 months for journey-level electricians in Hawaii.
  • Demography - The Texas triangle will continue growing and Florida populations will rebound outward. South Florida lacks good cuisine, Austin lacks a viable international airport, and both lack walkability - getting to meetings takes as minimum of 30-45 minutes and the mayor still hasn't solved the bridge problem.
  • Chipotle, Starbucks, and Nike will continue their decline. You can't fix iconic companies with MBAs who lack the necessary grit to get down to the silicon with problems. Since my tweet, chipotle (CMG) stock has fallen approximately 48% to $31.57, Starbucks (SBUX) has dropped about 26% to $84.78, and Nike (NKE) has declined roughly 31% to $64.17 as of November 14, 2025. All 3 have further to fall, unfortunately - I was once taught by an ex-DE Shaw fellow who indicated to me "Do not short something without a rare thesis."
  • Electricity - Your cost of electricity is going up and soon. We have hari kari'd our grid with EV and renewables intermittencies and as such will pay the consequences. Bitcoin mining doesn't fix anything, don't trust anyone who says otherwise, they're lying about the all in EROI math.
